Had to deal with increasing numbers of spam calls in the last months. So I set up some kind of firewall on my phone.

Found the excellent app SpamBlocker on F-Droid f-droid.org/en/packages/spam.b
It has a bit of a learning curve though. With *lots* of options making the UI and UX a bit "special". But there's lots of context help - and it eventually just works.

Next step: actually identify newly incoming spam calls. For this there's a community curated spam list on phoneblock.net/
This project has an API that can be plugged into the SpamBlocker app; for identifying and reporting numbers.

@Skye The irony is that #FOSS apps and self-hostable services exist for these for decades and #FDroid has apps for them and makes discovery easier. But users don't know because the developer focus is on good products and not splashing money for ads and marketing.

Mit der deflock-app arbeitest du direkt mit OpenStreetMap zusammen. Bestehende Kameras (Tag man_made=surveillance) lädst du aus der OSM-Datenbank herunterladen. Neue Geräte fügst du per OAuth2-Authentifizierung hinzu – inklusive Blickrichtung, Hersteller und Gerätetyp.
Dank des Offline-Modus speichert die App alle Änderungen in einer Warteschlange und synchronisiert sie mit OpenStreetMap, sobald du wieder online bist. So wächst die OSM-Datenbank kontinuierlich und jeder profitiert von aktuellen Informationen.

Bon, l'Open source, c'est bien, MAIS…
c'est parfois (souvent ?) pas aisé d'utilisation.

Exemple concret : avant de m'intéresser à l'open source, j'utilisais fréquemment Microsoft Lens pr scanner des docs avec mon smartphone. Qd j'ai pris conscience des problèmes posés par ce genre d'app, j'ai très vite basculé sur OSS Document Scanner. L'utilisation n'est pas aussi intuitive, ms l'appli est tout aussi efficace, tout en respectant la vie privée.

@autumnstuff I have now realized that #GrapheneOS is completely not about total #DeGooglization, not about GNU's #FOSS ideals, but about #security, sandboxing, #antitracking and #privacy only. Half of preinstalled apps are unfortunately the same as on stock Android (inc. keyboard, messages, phone, calculator etc - only open-sourced) - so, they remind me Google stuff. It is not bad - any team has limited resources, and I accept that it is better to put them forward the supreme goal of privacy.

Al mismo tiempo quería preguntar si alguien sabe alguna aplicación #FOSS que sirva cómo cronómetro de boxeo, en la #PlayStore hay una muy buena en cuanto a funcionalidades pero tiene publicidad y hay que pagar para quitárselas. En #fdroid al menos por ahora no he dado con alguna alternativa.

La app que yo menciono tiene la posibilidad de programar cantidad de asaltos (rounds) y cantidad de descansos así como los tiempos de cada uno.
